Our Trustees

The Wayne Public Library (WPL) Board of Trustees is a seven-member body established by state statute to oversee all aspects of library operations, finances, policy, and “all things necessary and proper for the establishment and maintenance of the free public library in the municipality” (N.J.S.A. §40:54-12).

WPL’s Board of Trustees was established by referendum on […], and operates independently of the municipal government.

The Wayne Township Mayor and Superintendent of Schools have permanent seats on the Board, though they may appoint alternates. All other members are appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Township Council. WPL’s current Trustees are:

WPL’s Board of Trustees holds its regular meetings on the Tuesday of the second full week of every month, except for August when there is no meeting. All meetings are in person and open to the public in accordance with the Open Public Meetings Act (N.J.S.A. 10:4-6 to -21).
